Prior to that, she was an editor on the investigations team at Radio Free Asia, where she helped its language services expand their coverage of transnational repression, cyberscammers and human trafficking.
The author of “Troubling the Water: A Dying Lake and a Vanishing World in Cambodia,” Abby was based in Southeast Asia for nearly a decade, reporting for publications including Time, Al Jazeera, Mekong Review and Pacific Standard. Having started her career at the Cambodia Daily, she remains a true believer in collaborative journalism and the power of a well-reported story to improve lives.
In her free time, she likes to putter around the kitchen while listening to Agatha Christie audiobooks.
